Our myProtectors are made slightly bigger (appx. 2in wider and 2in longer) than US mattress standard sizes. For a better fit, please wash myProtectors in warm water and dry on low heat and it will shrink just enough to be perfect on your mattress.
♥ Understanding the Aroma of Wool
You may experience some wool aroma when you have just opened myProtector or after the first wash.
It is not a chemical smell, rather an authentic wool smell, which assures you are receiving the true and pure wool filled product, free of harmful chemicals, toxins and synthetics. It will dissipate within few days after opening.
Washing myProtectors twice in warm water with eco-friendly scented detergent and drying on low heat will also help to eliminate the smell. Sun drying is optional and may take bit longer to dry.

Do I need to pre-wash the protector?
No—myProtector fabric is already pre-washed and ready to use right out of the packaging. Simply place it on your mattress and enjoy its many benefits, from reliable mattress protection to the natural advantages of wool, including moisture-wicking and temperature regulation.
Is the top and all four sides of the protector waterproof?
Yes. myProtector provides complete five-sided protection, covering the top and all four sides of your mattress.
Is your mattress protector waterproof?
Yes. It is designed to be fully waterproof, helping prevent spills and stains from reaching the mattress or any layers underneath, such as a mattress pad.
My washer is a top loader with an agitator—can I use it to wash myProtector?
Based on customer feedback, we recommend using a front-load washer without an agitator. Washers with agitators may cause partial shrinkage in the areas where the fabric is agitated. Larger-capacity washers are also preferred, as they better accommodate myProtectors during washing.
Does the mattress protector warranty also cover the mattress?
- We offer a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects on our mattress protectors.
- When a mattress protector is purchased on the same retail sales receipt as a new mattress, Sleep & Beyond will also cover the surface of the new mattress against stains, provided the protector is in place at the time of the spill.
- The warranty does not cover misuse or normal wear and tear.
- Please retain all original receipts and packing slips as proof of purchase and purchase date.

What is best way to wash myProtector?
- For best results, use a front-load washer.
- Wash in cold to warm water to help preserve the integrity of the wool filling.
- Cold water typically ranges from 60°F to 80°F (16°C to 27°C) and is the most eco-friendly option, using less energy and helping reduce utility costs.
- Warm water generally falls between 90°F and 110°F (32°C to 43°C).
- Avoid hot water (130°F to 140°F / 54°C to 60°C), as it can cause the wool fibers to shrink.
- Top-load washers are not recommended, since agitators may cause partial shrinkage in areas where the fabric and wool filling are repeatedly agitated.
What detergent brands do you recommend for mattress protectors?
We suggest using gentle, wool-safe detergents such as Ecover Wool & Silk, Woolite Delicates, Eucalan, Charlie’s Soap, and Seventh Generation Free & Clear. These detergents are designed to clean effectively while preserving natural lanolin and fiber integrity, without the use of harsh chemicals.
What is the best way to dry myProtector?
We recommend starting the drying process on the lowest heat setting for the first 90–120 minutes. If the protector still feels damp, continue drying on low heat. For the final stage, you may tumble dry on a no-heat (air) cycle, line dry, or hang it outdoors to air dry in the sun.
How deep is myProtector?
The crib-size myProtector features a 6-inch skirt and fits standard crib mattresses perfectly. Our adult mattress protector has a 15-inch skirt, designed to comfortably accommodate mattresses ranging from 8 to 18 inches in depth.
